Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; For vanity shall be his recompense.
“Let him not trust in vanity (emptiness, futility) and be led astray; For emptiness will be his reward [for such living].
Let him not deceive himself and trust in vanity (emptiness, falseness, and futility), for these shall be his recompense [for such living].
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let him not put trust in worthless things, being led astray, for what he gets in exchange will prove worthless.
They shouldn’t trust in what has no worth, for their reward will be worthless.
Let him not rely on futile methods, thereby deceiving himself; for what he will receive in exchange will be only futility.
They have put their trust in something worthless; now they will become worthless

That evil man should not fool himself by trusting in worthless things, because he will keep nothing.
He may trust in useless things to save him. But he is deceiving himself. Any help that he receives will also be useless.
He should not trust in useless things. He should not fool himself. His only reward will be useless things.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment.
The wicked should not fool themselves by trusting what is useless. If they do, they will get nothing in return [C “useless” and “nothing” are the same Hebrew word].
He believeth not that he erreth in vanity: therefore vanity shall be his change.
He shouldn’t trust in worthless things and deceive himself because he will get worthless things in return.
If they are foolish enough to trust in evil, then evil will be their reward.
Let him not put trust in worthless things, being led astray, for what he gets in exchange will prove worthless.
The evil person should not fool himself by trusting what is useless. If he does, he will get nothing in return.

Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let him not believe in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness will be his reward,
Let him not trust in emptiness—he will be deceiving himself— for worthlessness will be his recompense.
“Let him no longer trust in foolish riches; let him no longer deceive himself, for the money he trusts in will be his only reward.
“Even if they’re the picture of health, trim and fit and youthful, They’ll end up living in a ghost town sleeping in a hovel not fit for a dog, a ramshackle shack. They’ll never get ahead, never amount to much of anything. And then death—don’t think they’ll escape that! They’ll end up shriveled weeds, brought down by a puff of God’s breath. There’s a lesson here: Whoever invests in lies, gets lies for interest, Paid in full before the due date. Some investment! They’ll be like fruit frost-killed before it ripens, like buds sheared off before they bloom. The godless are fruitless—a barren crew; a life built on bribes goes up in smoke. They have sex with sin and give birth to evil. Their lives are wombs for breeding deceit.”
Let him who is deceived not trust in futility, for futility will be his reward.
He shouldn’t trust in worthless things and deceive himself because he will get worthless things in return.
Let him not trust in his height, misled, even though his height be like the palm tree.

Let him not lie to himself and trust in what is empty. For what is empty will be his reward.
Let them no longer fool themselves by trusting in empty riches, for emptiness will be their only reward.

“Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; for emptiness will be his reward.
Don’t let him fool himself; if he trusts in the emptiness of his vanity, emptiness will be his reward.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; for emptiness will be his reward.
Believe he not vainly which is deceived by error, that he shall be again-bought by any price. (He, who is deceived by error, vainly believeth that he shall be bought back, or redeemed, at any price.)
Let him not put credence in vanity, He hath been deceived, For vanity is his recompence.
