He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage, neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

“With fierceness and rage he races to devour the ground, And he does not stand still at the sound of the [war] trumpet.
[He seems in running to] devour the ground with fierceness and rage; neither can he stand still at the sound of the [war] trumpet.
He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
He charges ahead with trembling rage; he cannot stand still at the sound of the ram’s horn.
Excitedly, trembling, he swallows the ground; can’t stand still at a trumpet’s blast.
Frenzied and eager, it devours the ground, scarcely believing the shofar has sounded.
Unable to stand still, they gallop eagerly into battle when trumpets blast.
He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage, and cannot contain himself at the sound of the trumpet:
Chasing and raging he swalloweth the ground, neither doth he make account when the noise of the trumpet soundeth.
The horse gets very excited and races over the ground. When it hears the trumpet blow, it cannot stand still.
The horse shakes with joy as it runs to the battle. When the battle trumpet makes its noise, the horse wants to run even faster!
Shaking with excitement, it swallows up ground. It doesn’t just stand there when the ram’s horn sounds.
With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground; he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet.

With ·great excitement [L trembling and shaking], the horse ·races over [L swallows up] the ground; and it cannot stand still when it hears the ·trumpet [ram’s horn].
He diggeth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth forth to meet the harnessed man.
Anxious and excited, the horse eats up the ground and doesn’t trust the sound of the ram’s horn.
Trembling with excitement, the horses race ahead; when the trumpet blows, they can't stand still.
He charges ahead with trembling rage; he cannot stand still at the trumpet’s sound.
With great excitement, the horse races over the ground. He cannot stand still when he hears the trumpet.
Leaping in his excitement, he takes in the ground; he cannot stand still when the trumpets sound!
He swallows the ground with fierceness and rage; the sound of the shofar does not trouble him;
He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

With roar and rage it races over the ground, and it cannot stand still at the sound of the horn.
Fiercely he paws the ground and rushes forward into battle when the trumpet blows.
“Are you the one who gave the horse his prowess and adorned him with a shimmering mane? Did you create him to prance proudly and strike terror with his royal snorts? He paws the ground fiercely, eager and spirited, then charges into the fray. He laughs at danger, fearless, doesn’t shy away from the sword. The banging and clanging of quiver and lance don’t faze him. He quivers with excitement, and at the trumpet blast races off at a gallop. At the sound of the trumpet he neighs mightily, smelling the excitement of battle from a long way off, catching the rolling thunder of the war cries.
He devours the distance with fierceness and rage, and he does not stand still at the sound of the trumpet.

They are so excited that they race over the ground. They can’t stand still when trumpets are blown.
In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.

With quaking and excitement, he swallows up the ground. He cannot stand still when the shofar sounds.
It is a storm and a fury devouring the ground ahead, set off by the blast of the trumpet, unable to stand still.
He eats up the ground with fierceness and rage, neither does he stand still at the sound of the trumpet.
He is hot, or fervent, and gnasheth, and swalloweth the earth; and he areckoneth not that the cry of the trump soundeth (and he cannot be held when the cry of the trumpet soundeth).
With trembling and rage he swalloweth the ground, And remaineth not stedfast Because of the sound of a trumpet.
