Job 9:20
Print
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me; if I say, ‘I am perfect,’ it shall also prove me perverse.
Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.
“Though I am innocent and in the right, my own mouth would pronounce me guilty; Though I am blameless, He would denounce me as guilty.
Though I am innocent and in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, He would prove me perverse.
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
Even if I were in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, my mouth would declare me guilty.
If I’m innocent, my mouth condemns me; I have integrity; but God declares me perverse.
Even if I’m right, my own mouth will condemn me; if I’m innocent, it would pronounce me guilty.
Even if I were innocent, God would prove me wrong.
If I justified myself, mine own mouth would condemn me; were I perfect, he would prove me perverse.
If I would justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I would shew myself innocent, he shall prove me wicked.
I am innocent, but anything I say makes me seem guilty. I am innocent, but if I speak, my mouth proves me wrong.
I am right. I have not done anything that is wrong. But my words would say that I am guilty.
Even if I am righteous, my mouth would still condemn me. If I am blameless, it would pronounce me crooked.
Though I am in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Though I am in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
·Even if I were [or Though I am] ·right [righteous], my own mouth would ·say I was wrong [condemn me]; ·if I were [or I am] innocent, ·my mouth would say I was [or he declares me] guilty.
If I should justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I would be perfect, he shall judge me wicked.
If I am righteous, my own mouth would condemn me. It would declare that I am corrupt even if I am a man of integrity.
I am innocent and faithful, but my words sound guilty, and everything I say seems to condemn me.
Even if I were in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, my mouth would declare me guilty.
Even if I were right, my own mouth would say I was wrong. If I were innocent, my mouth would say I was guilty.
Though I’m in the right, my own mouth will condemn me; though I’m blameless, he’ll pronounce me as guilty.
If I justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, he shall prove me perverse.
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
Though I am righteous, my mouth will condemn me; Though I am blameless, He will declare me perverse.
Even though I am righteous, my mouth will condemn me; even though I am blameless, yet it would pronounce me guilty.
“But I? Am I righteous? My own mouth says no. Even if I were perfect, God would prove me wicked.
“So how could I ever argue with him, construct a defense that would influence God? Even though I’m innocent I could never prove it; I can only throw myself on the Judge’s mercy. If I called on God and he himself answered me, then, and only then, would I believe that he’d heard me. As it is, he knocks me about from pillar to post, beating me up, black-and-blue, for no good reason. He won’t even let me catch my breath, piles bitterness upon bitterness. If it’s a question of who’s stronger, he wins, hands down! If it’s a question of justice, who’ll serve him the subpoena? Even though innocent, anything I say incriminates me; blameless as I am, my defense just makes me sound worse.
Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me; though I were perfect, it would prove me perverse.
If I am righteous, my own mouth would condemn me. It would declare that I am corrupt even if I am a man of integrity.
Though I were right, my own mouth might condemn me; were I innocent, it might put me in the wrong.
Though I am righteous, my mouth will condemn me; Though I am guiltless, He will declare me guilty.
“Though I am righteous, my mouth will condemn me; Though I am guiltless, He will declare me guilty.
Even though I am innocent, my own mouth might condemn me. Even though I am blameless, he might prove me guilty.
Even if I were right, my own mouth would say I was wrong; if I were innocent, my mouth would say I was guilty.
Although I am innocent, my mouth would condemn me, although I am blameless, it would declare me perverse.
Even if I hadn’t sinned, what I said would prove me guilty. Even if I were honest, my words would show that I’m wrong.
Even if I were innocent, my mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, it would pronounce me guilty.
Even if I were innocent, my mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, it would pronounce me guilty.
Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me; Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.
Even if I were right, my mouth would say that I am guilty. Even if I were without blame, He would say I am guilty.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would pronounce me guilty. Though I am blameless, it would prove me wicked.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
If etzdak (I am justified, in the right), mine own mouth would condemn me; if I say, I am blameless, He would prove me perverse.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am blameless, he would prove me perverse.
Even if I were innocent, my mouth would condemn me. If I were guiltless, it will declare me perverse.
Even though I am right in all of this, my own mouth sentences me. Though I am blameless, my own lips cheat me.
Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse.
If I will make me just, my own mouth shall condemn me; if I shall show me innocent, he shall prove me a shrew. (If I will declare myself just, or right, my own mouth shall condemn me; if I shall declare myself innocent, it shall prove me a depraved man.)
If I be righteous, Mine mouth doth declare me wicked, Perfect I am! -- it declareth me perverse.
