Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan
Now these are the nations which Jehovah left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;
Now these are the nations which the Lord left [in order] to test Israel by them (that is, all [the people of Israel] who had not [previously] experienced any of the wars in Canaan;
Now these are the nations which the Lord left to prove Israel by them, that is, all in Israel who had not previously experienced war in Canaan;

These are the nations the Lord left in order to test all those in Israel who had experienced none of the wars in Canaan.
These are the nations that the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had no firsthand knowledge of the wars of Canaan.
These are the nations which Adonai allowed to remain, in order to put to the test all the people of Isra’el who had not known any of the wars with Kena‘an.
And the Lord had another reason for letting these enemies stay. The Israelites needed to learn how to fight in war, just as their ancestors had done. Each new generation would have to learn by fighting
And these are the nations that Jehovah left, to prove Israel by them, all that had not known all the wars of Canaan;
These are the nations which the Lord left, that by them he might instruct Israel, and all that had not known the wars of the Chanaanites:
The Lord did not force all the other nations to leave Israel’s land. He wanted to test the Israelites. None of the Israelites living at this time had fought in the wars to take the land of Canaan. So he let those other nations stay in their country. (He did this to teach the Israelites who had not fought in those wars.) These are the nations the Lord left in the land:
The Lord allowed some nations to stay in Canaan. He would use them to test the Israelites who had not yet fought wars in Canaan.
The following are the nations that the Lord left in place in order to test all the Israelites who had not experienced all the wars in Canaan.
Now these are the nations that the Lord left, to test Israel by them, that is, all in Israel who had not experienced all the wars in Canaan.

These are the nations the Lord left behind to test all the Israelites who had not experienced any war in Canaan.
So then, the Lord left some nations in the land to test the Israelites who had not been through the wars in Canaan.
These are the nations the Lord left in order to test Israel, since the Israelites had fought none of these in any of the wars with Canaan.
These are the nations the Lord did not force to leave. He wanted to test the Israelites who had not fought in the wars to take Canaan.
Here’s a list of nations that the Lord caused to remain in order to test Israel (that is, everyone who had not gained any battle experience in Canaan)
¶ Now these are the Gentiles which the LORD left, to prove Israel with them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

These are the nations that Yahweh left, to test Israel by them (that is, to test all those who had not experienced any of the wars of Canaan,
Here is a list of the nations the Lord left in the land to test the new generation of Israel who had not experienced the wars of Canaan. For God wanted to give opportunity to the youth of Israel to exercise faith and obedience in conquering their enemies: the Philistines (five cities), the Canaanites, the Sidonians, the Hivites living in Mount Lebanon, from Baal-hermon to the entrance of Hamath.
These are the nations that God left there, using them to test the Israelites who had no experience in the Canaanite wars. He did it to train the descendants of Israel, the ones who had no battle experience, in the art of war. He left the five Philistine tyrants, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living on Mount Lebanon from Mount Baal Hermon to Hamath’s Pass. They were there to test Israel and see whether they would obey God’s commands that were given to their parents through Moses.
Now these are the nations that the Lord left to test those in Israel who had not experienced war in Canaan
These are the nations Yahweh left behind to test all the Israelites who had not experienced any war in Canaan.
These are the nations the Lord allowed to remain, so that through them he might test Israel, all those who had not experienced any of the Canaanite wars—

These were the nations the Lord permitted to remain so he could use them to test Israel—he wanted to test all those who had not experienced battle against the Canaanites.
The Lord left some nations in the land. He left them to test the Israelites who hadn’t lived through any of the wars in Canaan.

These be the folks which the Lord left alive, that in them he should teach Israel, and all men that knew not the battles of Canaanites; (These be the nations which the Lord left alive, so that through them he would teach the Israelites, all those who had not been part of the battles for Canaan;)
And these [are] the nations which Jehovah left, to try Israel by them, all who have not known all the wars of Canaan;
