Nehemiah 5:4
There were also those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute upon our fields and our vineyards.
There were also others who were saying, “We have borrowed money on our fields and vineyards for the [Persian] king’s [heavy] tax.
Others said, We have borrowed money on our fields and vineyards to pay the [Persian] king’s heavy tax.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Still others said, “We have had to borrow money against our fields and vineyards in order to pay the king’s tax.”
Yet others said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s taxes against our fields and vineyards.
Then others said, “We had to borrow money from those in power to pay the government tax on our fields and vineyards.
And there were that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute upon our fields and vineyards;
And others said: Let us borrow money for the king's tribute, and let us give up our fields and vineyards:
And still other people were saying, “We have to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards. But we cannot afford to pay, so we are borrowing money to pay the tax.
Other people said, ‘We have to pay taxes to the king for our fields and our vineyards. People had to lend us money to pay the taxes.
There were others who were saying, “We borrowed money to pay the royal tax on our fields and vineyards.
And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king's tax on our fields and our vineyards.
And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king's tax on our fields and our vineyards.
And still others were saying, “We are borrowing money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute upon our lands and our vineyards.
Others said, “We’ve had to borrow money to pay the king’s taxes on our fields and vineyards.
Still others said, “We had to borrow money to pay the royal tax on our fields and vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
And still others were saying, “We are having to borrow money. We have to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Still others were saying “We’ve borrowed money against our fields and vineyards to pay the king’s taxes.
And there were some that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
Also there were those who were saying, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.
And there were those who were saying, “We have borrowed money on our fields and our vineyards for the tax of the king.
What was happening was that families who ran out of money for food had to sell their children or mortgage their fields, vineyards, and homes to these rich men; and some couldn’t even do that, for they already had borrowed to the limit to pay their taxes.
And others said, “We’re having to borrow money to pay the royal tax on our fields and vineyards. Look: We’re the same flesh and blood as our brothers here; our children are just as good as theirs. Yet here we are having to sell our children off as slaves—some of our daughters have already been sold—and we can’t do anything about it because our fields and vineyards are owned by somebody else.”
Still others were saying, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute against the value of our fields and vineyards.
Others said, “We’ve had to borrow money to pay the king’s taxes on our fields and vineyards.
Still others said: “To pay the king’s tax we have borrowed money on our fields and vineyards.
There also were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.
Also there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.
Furthermore, there were those who said: “We are being forced to borrow money on our fields and vineyards in order to pay the king’s tax.
And still others were saying, “We are borrowing money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Then there were those who said, “We have borrowed money to pay our taxes to the king on our fields and our vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We’ve had to borrow money. We needed it to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We have had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Still others were saying, ‘We have had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
There were also those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our lands and vineyards.
Others said, “We have taken money from others to pay the king’s tax on our fields and our grape-vines, and we must pay back this money.
And others said, “We have had to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay our taxes.
And there were those who said, ‘We are having to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay the king’s tax.
And there were those who said, ‘We are having to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay the king’s tax.
And there were those who said, “We are having to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay the king’s tax.
And there were those who said, “We are having to borrow money on our fields and vineyards to pay the king’s tax.
There were also that said, We have borrowed kesef for the tax of HaMelech, and that upon our sadot and kramim.
And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax upon our fields and our vineyards.
And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax upon our fields and our vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
Other Jewish Landowners: We are borrowing money so that we can pay King Artaxerxes’ tax on our fields and vineyards because of the famine.
There were also some who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute using our fields and our vineyards as collateral.
And other men said, Take we money by borrowing, for usury, into the tributes of the king, and give our fields and vineries. (And still others said, We have borrowed money with interest, against our fields and our vineyards, so we could pay the tributes, or the taxes, to the king.)
And there are who are saying, `We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;
