for the froward is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret is with the righteous.
For the perverse is an abomination to Jehovah; But his friendship is with the upright.
For the devious are repulsive to the Lord; But His private counsel is with the upright [those with spiritual integrity and moral courage].
For the perverse are an abomination [extremely disgusting and detestable] to the Lord; but His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him).
For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

Devious people are detestable to the Lord, but the virtuous are his close friends.
for the perverse is an abomination to Adonai, but he shares his secret counsel with the upright.
The Lord doesn't like anyone who is dishonest, but he lets good people be his friends.

For every mocker is an abomination to the Lord, and his communication is with the simple.
Such crooked people are disgusting to the Lord. But he is a friend to those who are good and honest.
The Lord hates wicked people. But he makes righteous people his friends.

Don’t walk around with a chip on your shoulder, always spoiling for a fight. Don’t try to be like those who shoulder their way through life. Why be a bully? “Why not?” you say. Because God can’t stand twisted souls. It’s the straightforward who get his respect.
