Psalm 49:5
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels shall compass me about?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about?
Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the wickedness of those who would betray me surrounds me [on every side],
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of those who would supplant me surrounds me on every side,
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Why should I fear in times of trouble? The iniquity of my foes surrounds me.
Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when the wrongdoing of my bullies engulfs me—
I will listen with care to [God’s] parable, I will set my enigma to the music of the lyre.
Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when I am surrounded by vicious enemies?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me?—
Gather ye together his saints to him: who set his covenant before sacrifices.
Why should I be afraid when trouble comes? There is no need to fear when evil enemies surround me.
When trouble comes, why am I afraid? When cruel people are all round me, and they want to hurt me, why am I afraid?
Why should I fear days of trouble, days when the wickedness of my pursuers surrounds me?
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me,
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me,
Why should I ·be afraid of [fear] ·bad [evil] days? ·Why should I fear when evil people […when the guilt of deceivers/the treacherous] surround me?
Wherefore should I fear in the evil days, when iniquity shall compass me about, as at mine heels?
Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when slanderers surround me with evil?
I am not afraid in times of danger when I am surrounded by enemies,
Why should I fear in times of trouble? The iniquity of my foes surrounds me.
Why should I be afraid of bad days? Why should I fear when evil men surround me?
Why should I be afraid when evil days come my way, when the wickedness of those who deceive me surrounds me—
Why should I fear in the days of adversity when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

Why should I fear in times of calamity, when iniquity surrounds me at my heels,
There is no need to fear when times of trouble come, even though surrounded by enemies!
So why should I fear in bad times, hemmed in by enemy malice, Shoved around by bullies, demeaned by the arrogant rich?
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my stalkers surrounds me?
Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when slanderers surround me with evil?
I will turn my ear to a riddle, expound my question on a lyre.
Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the injustice of those who betray me surrounds me,
Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,
I will listen carefully to a proverb, and with the harp I will interpret my riddle.
Why should I be afraid of bad days? Why should I fear when evil people surround me?
Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when the sinful deeds of deceptive men threaten to overwhelm me?
Why should I be afraid when trouble comes? Why should I fear when sinners are all around me? They are the kind of people who want to take advantage of me.
Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—

Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
Why should I be afraid in the days of trouble, when the sin of those who hate me is all around me?
Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me?
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of my persecutors surrounds me,
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of my persecutors surrounds me,

Why should I fear in the days of rah, when the avon (iniquity) of my akev (supplanters, deceivers) surrounds me?
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of my persecutors surrounds me,
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of my persecutors surrounds me,
I will turn my ear to a proverb. I will utter my riddle on the harp:
Why should I be afraid when dark evils swirl about me, when I am walking among the sin of evildoers—
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
Why shall I dread in the evil day? the wickedness of mine heel shall (en)compass me. (Why should I have fear, or be afraid, on the day of evil, when the wickedness of my enemies shall surround me?)
Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters doth compass me.
