Psalm 90:3
Thou turnest man to destruction, and sayest, “Return, ye children of men.”
Thou turnest man to destruction, And sayest, Return, ye children of men.
You turn man back to dust, And say, “Return [to the earth], O children of [mortal] men!”
You turn man back to dust and corruption, and say, Return, O sons of the earthborn [to the earth]!
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
You return mankind to the dust, saying, “Return, descendants of Adam.”
You return people to dust, saying, “Go back, humans,”
You bring frail mortals to the point of being crushed, then say, “People, repent!”
At your command we die and turn back to dust,
Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.
For he hath delivered me from the snare of the hunters: and from the sharp word.
You bring people into this world, and you change them into dust again.
People return to dust in the ground when they die. You say, ‘Become dust again, you people.’
You grind people to dust, and you say, “Return, children of Adam.”
You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!”
You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!”
You turn people back into ·dust [L what is crushed; Gen. 2:7; 3:19; Eccl. 12:7]. You say, “·Go back into dust [L Return; Turn back], human beings.”
Thou turnest man to destruction: again thou sayest, Return ye sons of Adam.
You turn mortals back into dust and say, “Return, descendants of Adam.”
You tell us to return to what we were; you change us back to dust.
You return mankind to the dust, saying, “Return, descendants of Adam.”
You turn people back into dust. You say, “Go back into dust, human beings.”
You return people to dust merely by saying, “Return, you mortals!”
Thou dost turn unto man until he is broken and thou saith, Become converted, ye sons of Adam.
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
You turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O sons of men.”
You return man to the dust, saying, “Return, O sons of man.”
You speak, and man turns back to dust.
So don’t return us to mud, saying, “Back to where you came from!” Patience! You’ve got all the time in the world—whether a thousand years or a day, it’s all the same to you. Are we no more to you than a wispy dream, no more than a blade of grass That springs up gloriously with the rising sun and is cut down without a second thought? Your anger is far and away too much for us; we’re at the end of our rope. You keep track of all our sins; every misdeed since we were children is entered in your books. All we can remember is that frown on your face. Is that all we’re ever going to get? We live for seventy years or so (with luck we might make it to eighty), And what do we have to show for it? Trouble. Toil and trouble and a marker in the graveyard. Who can make sense of such rage, such anger against the very ones who fear you?
You return man to the dust and say, “Return, you children of men.”
You turn mortals back into dust and say, “Return, descendants of Adam.”
You turn humanity back into dust, saying, “Return, you children of Adam!”
You turn mortals back into dust And say, “Return, you sons of mankind.”
You turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O children of men.”
You turn men back to dust, saying, “Return, you children of men.”
You turn people back into dust. You say, “Go back into dust, human beings.”
You make mankind return to the dust, and say, “Return, O people.”
You turn human beings back to dust. You say to them, “Return to dust.”
You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
You turn people back to dust, saying, ‘Return to dust, you mortals.’
You turn man to destruction, And say, “Return, O children of men.”
You change man into dust again, and say, “Return, O children of men.”
You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals!”
You turn us back to dust, and say, ‘Turn back, you mortals.’
You turn us back to dust, and say, ‘Turn back, you mortals.’
You turn us back to dust, and say, “Turn back, you mortals.”
You turn us back to dust and say, “Turn back, you mortals.”
Thou turnest enosh to dakka (dust); and sayest, Shuvu, ye Bnei Adam.
Thou turnest man back to the dust, and sayest, “Turn back, O children of men!”
Thou turnest man back to the dust, and sayest, “Turn back, O children of men!”
You turn mankind back to dust, saying, “Return, children of Adam!”
You turn people back to dust, saying, “Go back to the dust, children of Adam.”
You turn man to destruction, saying, “Return, you children of men.”
Turn thou not away a man into lowness; and thou saidest, Ye sons of men, be turned again. (Thou hast turned people back to the lowness from whence they came; yea, thou sayest, Ye sons and daughters of men, return to dust.)
Thou turnest man unto a bruised thing, And sayest, Turn back, ye sons of men.
