  11. Who should not fear you, King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.
  12. But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.
  13. Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland.
  14. Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, Lord our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.
  15. Lord, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.
  16. Therefore this is what the Lord says: “Inquire among the nations: Who has ever heard anything like this? A most horrible thing has been done by Virgin Israel.
  17. “People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’
  18. I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.
  19. This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
  20. I will bring on that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations.
  21. They themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”
  22. The Cup of God’s Wrath

    This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.
  23. So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink it:
  24. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the Lord will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword,’” declares the Lord.
  25. then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse among all the nations of the earth.’”
