37 Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary, and Joah son of Asaph, the court historian,(A) came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn(B) and reported to him the words of the Rabshakeh.

Hezekiah Seeks Isaiah’s Counsel

19 When King Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth,(C) and went into the Lord’s temple.(D) Then he sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary,(E) and the leading priests, who were wearing sackcloth,(F) to the prophet Isaiah(G) son of Amoz.
