They [the stricken, deprived of all in which they had trusted] will go into the caves of the rocks And into the holes of the ground [fleeing] From the terror and dread of the Lord And from the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to terrify the earth.
Then shall [the stricken, deprived of all in which they had trusted] go into the caves of the rocks and into the holes of the earth from before the terror and dread of the Lord and from before the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake mightily and terribly the earth.
People will run to caves in the ·rocky cliffs [rocks] and ·will dig holes and hide [L to holes] in the ground from the ·anger [terror; terrible presence] of the Lord and ·his great power [the majesty/glory/splendor of his majesty; v. 10], when he ·stands [rises] to shake the earth.
People will run to caves in the rocky cliffs. They will dig holes and hide in the ground. They will hide from the anger of the Lord and his great power. They will do this when the Lord stands to shake the earth.
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks and into the caves of the earth, because of the terrible presence of the LORD and because of the glory of his majesty when he shall arise to smite the earth.
People will run and hide in caves in the rocks. They will go into holes in the ground. They will run away from the terrifying presence of the Lord. They will run when he comes in glory and majesty. When he comes, he will shake the earth.
People will hide themselves away in rocky caves and dusty holes in the ground in the face of the Eternal’s terrifying Self, In the face of His dread and enormous majesty, when He comes forth to overwhelm the earth.
And they shall enter into the dens of stones, and into the swallows of [the] earth, from the face of the inward dread of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise to smite the land. (And they shall enter into caves of stone, and into hollows of the earth, from the fear of the Lord, and the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise to strike the land.)
