But evil people are like the angry ocean. They cannot be quiet and peaceful. They are angry, and like the ocean, they stir up mud.
‘But wicked people are like a rough sea with dangerous waves. It cannot stay still. Its waves throw up mud and dirt.
But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which is not able to rest. Its waters toss up dirt and mud.
But the wicked are like the tossing sea; for it cannot be quiet, and its waters toss up mire and dirt.

But ·evil people [the wicked] are like the ·angry [surging; tossing] sea, which cannot rest, whose waves toss up ·waste [mire; muck] and mud.

But evil people are like the restless sea, whose waves never stop rolling in, bringing filth and muck.
But the wicked are like the storm-tossed sea, for it cannot be still, and its waters churn up mire and muck.

A Message from the high and towering God, who lives in Eternity, whose name is Holy: “I live in the high and holy places, but also with the low-spirited, the spirit-crushed, And what I do is put new spirit in them, get them up and on their feet again. For I’m not going to haul people into court endlessly, I’m not going to be angry forever. Otherwise, people would lose heart. These souls I created would tire out and give up. I was angry, good and angry, because of Israel’s sins. I struck him hard and turned away in anger, while he kept at his stubborn, willful ways. When I looked again and saw what he was doing, I decided to heal him, lead him, and comfort him, creating a new language of praise for the mourners. Peace to the far-off, peace to the near-at-hand,” says God— “and yes, I will heal them. But the wicked are storm-battered seas that can’t quiet down. The waves stir up garbage and mud. There’s no peace,” God says, “for the wicked.”

By contrast, the wicked are all riled up like a storm-tossed sea that cannot be calmed. Its crashing waves wash up muck and dirt on the shore.
But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can’t rest and its waters cast up mire and mud.
But wicked men be as the boiling sea, that may not rest; and the waves thereof float again into defouling, and fen. (But the wicked be like the boiling sea, that cannot rest; and its waves flow again into defiling, and into fen.)
And the wicked [are] as the driven out sea, For to rest it is not able, And its waters cast out filth and mire.
