Job 24:21
Print
He evilly treateth the barren that beareth not, and doeth not good to the widow.
He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow.
“He preys on the barren (childless) woman And does no good for the widow.
[The evil man] preys upon the barren, childless woman and does no good to the widow.
He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
They prey on the childless woman who is unable to conceive, and do not deal kindly with the widow.
They prey on the barren, the childless, do nothing good for the widow.
They devour childless women and give no help to widows.
Sinners take advantage of widows and other helpless women.
He that despoileth the barren that beareth not, and doeth not good to the widow:
For he hath fed the barren that beareth not, and to the widow he hath done no good.
These evil people hurt women who have no children to protect them, and they refuse to help widows.
Those wicked people are cruel to women who have no children. They are not kind to widows.
He feeds on the childless woman, and he does nothing good for the widow.
“They wrong the barren, childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
“They wrong the barren, childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
These evil people ·abuse women who cannot have children [or associate with barren women] ·and show no kindness to widows [or which is not favorable to their widow].
He doth evil entreat the barren that doth not bear, neither doeth he good to the widow.
These men take advantage of childless women. These men show no kindness to widows.
That happens because they mistreated widows and showed no kindness to childless women.
They prey on the childless woman who is unable to conceive, and do not deal kindly with the widow.
These evil men are unfair to women who cannot have children. And they show no kindness to widows.
“They prey on the barren woman, and do no favors for widows.
He afflicted the barren woman that did not conceive and never did good unto the widow.
He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
He feeds on the barren woman who does not give birth And does no good for the widow.
He feeds on the barren, who does not have a child, and does no good to the widow.
For they have taken advantage of the childless who have no protecting sons. They refuse to help the needy widows.
“They are scraps of wood floating on the water— useless, cursed junk, good for nothing. As surely as snow melts under the hot, summer sun, sinners disappear in the grave. The womb has forgotten them, worms have relished them— nothing that is evil lasts. Unscrupulous, they prey on those less fortunate. However much they strut and flex their muscles, there’s nothing to them. They’re hollow. They may have an illusion of security, but God has his eye on them. They may get their brief successes, but then it’s over, nothing to show for it. Like yesterday’s newspaper, they’re used to wrap up the garbage. You’re free to try to prove me a liar, but you won’t be able to do it.”
He preys on the barren who do not bear, and does no good for the widow.
These men take advantage of childless women. These men show no kindness to widows.
May his companion be barren, unable to give birth, may his widow not prosper!
He wrongs the infertile woman, And does no good for the widow.
“He wrongs the barren woman And does no good for the widow.
“They maltreat the barren and childless woman and show no kindness to the widow.
These evil people abuse women who cannot have children and show no kindness to widows.
He preys on the barren and childless woman, and does not treat the widow well.
They mistreat women who aren’t able to have children. They aren’t kind to widows.
They prey on the barren and childless woman, and to the widow they show no kindness.
They prey on the barren and childless woman, and to the widow they show no kindness.
For he preys on the barren who do not bear, And does no good for the widow.
He does wrong to the woman who cannot give birth. And he does no good for the woman whose husband has died.
They cheat the woman who has no son to help her. They refuse to help the needy widow.
‘They harm the childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
‘They harm the childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
“They harm the childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
“They harm the childless woman and do no good to the widow.
He plundereth the barren that beareth not; and doeth not good to the almanah.
“They feed on the barren childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
“They feed on the barren childless woman, and do no good to the widow.
He feeds on the barren and childless woman, and shows no kindness to the widow.
They deliberately prey on women with no children to protect them and don’t care to lend a hand to widows!
He devours the barren who don’t bear. He shows no kindness to the widow.
For he fed (not) the barren, and her that childeth not, and he did not well to the widow.
Treating evil the barren [who] beareth not, And [to] the widow he doth no good,
