“But now they that are younger than I hold me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, Whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those younger than I mock and laugh at me, Whose fathers I refused to put with the sheepdogs of my flock.
But now they who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.
But now those younger than I mock me, whose fathers I refused to put beside my sheepdogs.
“But now those younger than I hold me in derision, men whose fathers I wouldn’t even have put with the dogs that guarded my sheep.
Young people now insult me, although their fathers would have been a disgrace to my sheep dogs.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
But now the younger in time scorn me, whose fathers I would not have set with the dogs of my flock:
“But now men younger than I make fun of me— men whose fathers were too worthless to put with my sheep dogs.
‘But now it is different. Men who are younger than I am laugh at me. I would not even trust their fathers to take care of my sheep.
But those far younger than I am now laugh at me— men whose fathers I would not have allowed to serve with my sheepdogs.
“But now they laugh at me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now they laugh at me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those who are younger than I ·make fun of [laugh at] me. I would ·not have even [L have disdained to] let their fathers sit with my sheep dogs.
1 Job complaineth that he is contemned of the most contemptible, 11, 21 because of his adversity and affliction. 23 Death is the house of all flesh. But now they that are younger than I, mock me: yea, they whose fathers I have refused to set with the dogs of my flocks.
“But now those who are younger than I am laugh at me. I didn’t think their fathers were fit to sit with the dogs of my flock.
But men younger than I am make fun of me now! Their fathers have always been so worthless that I wouldn't let them help my dogs guard sheep.
But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.
“But now men who are younger than I make fun of me. I would not have even let their fathers sit with my sheep dogs.
“But now they mock me; men who are far younger than I, whose fathers I would have hated to entrust with my own sheep dogs.
¶ But now those that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those younger than I laugh at me, Whose fathers I rejected even to put with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those younger than I, as far as days, laugh at me, whose fathers I rejected for setting with the dogs of my sheep and goats.
“But now those younger than I deride me—young men whose fathers are less than my dogs.
“But no longer. Now I’m the butt of their jokes— young thugs! whippersnappers! Why, I considered their fathers mere inexperienced pups. But they are worse than dogs—good for nothing, stray, mangy animals, Half-starved, scavenging the back alleys, howling at the moon; Homeless ragamuffins chewing on old bones and licking old tin cans; Outcasts from the community, cursed as dangerous delinquents. Nobody would put up with them; they were driven from the neighborhood. You could hear them out there at the edge of town, yelping and barking, huddled in junkyards, A gang of beggars and no-names, thrown out on their ears.
“But now those who are younger than I mock me, whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those who are younger than I am laugh at me. I didn’t think their fathers were fit to sit with the dogs of my flock.
But now they hold me in derision who are younger than I, Whose fathers I should have disdained to rank with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those who are younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I refused to put with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.
“But now I am the laughingstock of people who are younger than I, people whose fathers I would not have considered fit to put with the dogs guarding my flock.
“But now those who are younger than I make fun of me. I would not have even let their fathers sit with my sheep dogs.
“But now they mock me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I disdained too much to put with my sheep dogs.
“But now those who are younger than I am make fun of me. I wouldn’t even put their parents with my sheep dogs!
“But now they mock me, men younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.
‘But now they mock me, men younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.
“But now they mock at me, men younger than I, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.
“But now those who are younger than I make fun of me. I thought so little of their fathers that I did not want them with my sheep dogs.
“But now I am mocked by people younger than I, by young men whose fathers are not worthy to run with my sheepdogs.
‘But now they make sport of me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
‘But now they make sport of me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now they make sport of me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now they make sport of me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose avot I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my tzon.
“But now they make sport of me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now they make sport of me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
“But now they mock me—those younger than me, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.
Job: But now they mock me, these young men whose fathers I hold in such contempt. I wouldn’t trust them with my herds as I do my dogs.
“But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I considered unworthy to put with my sheep dogs.
But now younger men in time scorn me, whose fathers I deigned not to set with the dogs of my flock. (But now men younger than me scorn me, men whose fathers I would not deign to put with the dogs of my flock.)
And now, laughed at me, Have the younger in days than I, Whose fathers I have loathed to set With the dogs of my flock.
